We are looking for motivated and committed individuals to join our volunteer-driven teams.
Position Type: Volunteering (All volunteering positions at The Class Consulting Group are unpaid). It is a Remote Position.
The Chief of Staff (Board) serves as a strategic partner to the Board Chair and reports to the Board President, supporting high-priority initiatives, strategic planning, and organizational effectiveness. This role ensures alignment across projects, facilitates collaboration, and drives execution of key leadership initiatives. The Chief of Staff plays a critical role in enhancing leadership effectiveness by providing strategic insight, operational coordination, and decision support.
Responsibilities:
Serve as a strategic partner and trusted right hand to the Board Chair/President, supporting high-priority initiatives and ensuring leadership effectiveness.
Partner with the Board Chair to advance strategic planning, organizational priorities, and the long-term vision of the nonprofit.
Act as a trusted advisor and proxy for the Board Chair, representing leadership in meetings, discussions, and cross-functional initiatives when appropriate.
Manage and track the progress of leadership initiatives, strategic projects, and organizational priorities to ensure alignment and timely execution.
Prepare reports, dashboards, and updates for Board and leadership meetings to support informed decision-making.
Develop and support the preparation of presentations, board decks, strategic documents, leadership briefings, and internal communications.
Ensure the Board Chair is well prepared for meetings, presentations, and strategic discussions through research, briefing notes, and analysis.
Facilitate cross-team collaboration, align stakeholders, and follow up on action items to ensure initiatives move forward effectively.
Lead or coordinate cross-functional projects and strategic initiatives from planning through successful completion.
Influence and collaborate across teams without formal authority, building strong relationships and driving alignment across the organization.
Identify operational or strategic challenges and recommend practical, data-driven solutions.
Proactively identify opportunities to improve processes, systems, and organizational efficiency.
Maintain awareness of key activities, initiatives, and priorities across the organization to ensure alignment with leadership goals.
Support leadership in framing strategic decisions and shaping the organization’s direction through research, analysis, and insights.
Assist in aligning organizational initiatives with the nonprofit’s mission, long-term vision, and strategic goals.
Manage and support internal communication and alignment across leadership and operational teams.
Lead or support special projects related to growth, governance, organizational effectiveness, and leadership priorities.
Requirements:
Education Qualification & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Management, or a related field.
10+ years of experience supporting senior leadership, Board-level stakeholders, or organizational strategy.
Strong project management and organizational skills.
Excellent communication and stakeholder collaboration abilities.
Ability to analyze operational challenges and support strategic initiatives.
Experience working with leadership teams and managing cross-functional projects preferred.
