Board Chair – Business Consulting Services

The Class Consulting Group is a boutique management consulting firm headquartered in SFO-Bay Area that provides consulting services to senior management and Board of Directors of nonprofit/philanthropic organizations. It also offers community leadership opportunities to professionals. CLASS collaborates with its clients - the Non-Profit Organizations to help them realize their mission and create tangible value. CLASS offers business consulting services in Marketing, Strategy, Human Resources/ Organization, Finance, and IT.
 
We are looking for motivated and committed individuals to join our volunteer-driven teams.
 
Position Type: Volunteering (All volunteering positions at Class Consulting Group are unpaid). Temporarily remote due to COVID-19.

General Responsibilities:
  1. Lead the Business Consulting Services Group and drive the consulting business.
  2. Develop strategic and operation plans by identifying short term and long-term priorities.
  3. Set KPIs and track progress of strategic projects Provide leadership to the team and encourage leadership-based culture.
  4. Responsible for strategic planning, executing team's strategy and in identifying annual strategic priorities. Track progress of BCS activities.
  5. Develop high level business plans and strategies that ensure attainment of organizational goals and targets. Liaise with clients to ensure repeat business by managing relationship with current and past clients. Represent CLASS at various Nonprofit Organizations related events.
  6. Lead the communications with the client and leverage resources within the team and with other teams. Ensure that the strategies and goals in each function are coordinated.
  7. Lead and manage the divisions and projects within the division. Mentor and provide leadership for team members.
 
Board Responsibilities:
  1. Responsible for growth and sound governing the organization.
  2.  Ensure fulfillment of the mission of the organization.
  3.  Strongly believes in and advocates organizational values.
  4.  Set strategic direction and overall policy.   
  5.  Oversee and give final approval to the organization's budget, evaluate the organization's progress toward strategic goals and ensure sufficient resources.
  6.  Act as ambassadors for the organization.
  7.  Promote the organization's image and public standing.
  8.  To establish an organizational culture that embraces strategic planning and sets clearly defined goals.
  9.  Help promote diversity.
  10.  Report to the Board President and the full Board regarding committee decisions and recommendations.
  11.  Work closely with the Team Director and other volunteers.
  12.  Assign work to the committee members, set the agenda, run regular meetings, and distribute meeting minutes.
  13.  Initiate and lead the team evaluation and KPI.
 
Requirements:  
Education and Experience: -
  1. Master’s Degree from a reputed business school
  2. 15+ years of experience in the area of expertise [Management, Strategy, Marketing, Nonprofits, Sales, Consulting, Academia, etc.] with 8+ years of prior leadership background
  3. Experienced in developing and implementing and evaluating marketing and branding strategies.
  4. Demonstrated interest/passion in the non-profit/social responsibility sector.
  5. Experienced in leading large teams effectively. 
  6. Solid professional reputation

Commitment: -
  1. Attend Monthly Board meetings.   
  2. Attend twice in a month in person team meetings at 7pm PST [office location]  
  3. Estimated time commitment: 10-15 hours/ month depending on the need.
  4. Minimum commitment requirement is 1 Term [3 years]
